8 Things I Prioritize When Working with Professional Athletes

Working with professional athletes requires a unique understanding of their real estate wants and needs, and can differ from the needs of my other clients

1. Understanding Relocation
Working with a buyer who is out of state has a unique set of challenges when it comes to showing homes. Understanding their timeline, wants/needs and all other factors through clear communication is essential.

2. LISTENING!
I listen to what they want! This means from the first conversation, while showing homes all the way to closing. Part of listening is asking open-ended questions. Not only does this help me understand their wants and needs, but also helps me to find opportunities that may not be what they know to look for.

3. Over-communication
I make sure to "make the invisible, visible". This is something I learned from my success coach Marques Ogden (former NFL player). This builds trust and helps ensure my clients that I have their best interests in mind. I make sure that every time I speak with the other agent, (and any other involved party), they know.

4. Flexibility
With work schedules and travel schedules, I make sure to be available at the drop of a hat. That includes making sure there is coverage to pick up my kids from school on short notice, having someone take them to practices if needed, etc.

5. How they take Title
I recommend they consider creating an LLC or trust that is NOT in their name (to protect their identity/privacy).

6. PRIVACY!!
I always pride myself on not giving away addresses or names whenever I post, talk or share my experiences. Locations (Fort Collins, Cherry Hills Village, Denver, etc. are acceptable, but never the address or names of ANY clients). I also made sure if I posted ANYTHING on Social Media, I cleared it with my clients to make sure they were comfortable with it. ALL of my clients’ receive this same courtesy when it comes to the privacy of their transaction.

7. An AMAZING rapport with the listing agent
Creating an amazing rapport with the listing agent is essential to a smooth transaction in any situation. This helps me know what my clients are up against in a competitive situation and present them the best way possible.

8. Having a network of short-term and long-term rental options
Due to the schedules and travel of professional athletes, knowing rental options for both short-term and long term needs helps my professional athlete clients not have to settle or feel pressure to purchase until they find the right home for their lifestyle.

Are you looking for a Realtor who understands the nuances of working with professional athletes, or just looking for first-class, personalized service? I look forward to hearing from you.
